Mount Toubkal – High Atlas Expedition
North Africa’s Highest Peak & Berber Cultural Trek (7‑Day Adventure)
Rise above the rugged High Atlas to the 4,167 m summit of Jebel Toubkal, Morocco’s highest mountain. Our short yet immersive trek begins in the Berber village of Imlil and climbs through traditional hamlets and alpine basins to the Toubkal Refuge. Perfect as a stand‑alone trek or as part of a broader Morocco itinerary, this program offers a taste of Atlas mountaineering and Berber culture
Route: Imlil → Sidi Chamharouch → Toubkal Refuge → Jebel Toubkal (South Cwm route)
Duration: 2 Days / 1 Night
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging – continuous ascent on rocky trails; winter requires crampons/ice axe
Accommodation: Refuge hut (Les Mouflons or CAF)
The South Cwm route from Imlil is the standard path. It offers well‑established mule tracks through juniper forests and scree slopes, culminating in a non‑technical summit ridge. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) provide stable weather; winter ascents demand snow skills and equipment.
