Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi & Transfer to Amboseli

  • Morning: Arrive in Nairobi, greeted by your guide and transferred to Amboseli National Park (approximately 4-5 hours by road).
  • Afternoon: Arrive at your accommodation and settle in.
  • Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner while gazing at the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

 

Day 2-4: Amboseli Game Drives

  • Morning & Afternoon: Embark on daily game drives through Amboseli National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, and other wildlife.
    • The clear skies provide fantastic views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the backdrop, making for amazing photography opportunities.
    • Optional activities such as a nature walk with a Maasai guide, allowing for a closer connection to the land and its wildlife.

 

Day 5: Maasai Village Cultural Experience

  • Morning: After an early morning game drive, visit a local Maasai village to learn about Maasai culture and traditions. Engage with the locals, learn about their way of life, customs, and the importance of Mount Kilimanjaro to the Maasai people.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a traditional Maasai meal and experience local dances and crafts.

 

Day 6: Return to Nairobi

  • Morning: Enjoy a final morning game drive or relaxation at your lodge.
  • Afternoon: Return to Nairobi for your onward departure.

Best Time to Visit

  • Best Time: June to October (Dry season). During these months, wildlife is easier to spot as animals gather near waterholes. The weather is dry and ideal for trekking and photography, with clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
